Mideast News Flash Update
For February 5, 2012
Editor's Note: This is a summary of the latest prophecy-related news developments in the Middle East for Sunday, February 5, 2012. The Mideast situation continues to spiral into nearly incessant war chatter and threats of war. We're going to hold off on further A-O Intelligence Digest reporting for a few more hours as we're expecting some additional and critical information on Monday. We may or may not need some time to digest that information before formulating it into our next A-O Intelligence Digest edition.
Meanwhile, we're operating on a daily "standby" basis ,as news developments are becoming so numerous and critical in the last few days. We anticipate this may continue at such levels for at least the next day or two - thus - do not be surprised to see The A-O Report updating on a daily basis for at least the first part of this new week. At the same time, we're still trying to work on a re-examination of the Ezekiel Magog prophecies as well as the Babylon judgment prophecies of Jeremiah 50 and 51 concerning the role of Iran in the Babylon judgment. I would like to think I can have this done by the end of the week, but given the time constraints and complexity of the texts, it may be later in February, particularly if it looks like adjustments in our interpretation need to be made.
In the meantime, look for either an A-O Intelligence Digest late Monday or Tuesday or if nothing else a short commentary update on the Mideast situation. Right now, things are extremely "tense" in the region.

Obama Leaves Open the Military Option For Iran
In a TV interview with NBC news just before the NFL's 2012 football championship known as the Super Bowl, President Obama was asked about the Iranian nuclear situation and the possibility of an Israeli military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities. Obama stated his view on Israel's position:
"I don't think Israel has made a decision. I think they, like us, think Iran has to stand down their nuclear weapons program. Until they do, I think Israel is going to be very concerned, and we are as well."
"We're not taking any options off the table. Our preferred solution is diplomatic, we're going to keep on pushing on that front ... [but] I've been very clear that we're going to do everything we can to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and creating an arms race, a nuclear arms race, in a volatile region."

In the past few days, the Supreme Ayatollah Khamenei and other regime leaders have issued various warnings to the world of dire consequences to come, as well as a New World Order with the coming of the Islamic messiah known as the 12th Imam or the "Mahdi."

Iran Begins Massive Military Exercises
After Supreme Leader's Warnings To West
Some Analysts Believe Its War Mobilization
Iran has begun what was termed a 3 week military exercise for all branches of the military. The new round of military exercises are interpreted by some analysts as a cover for mobilization of Iran's military for war.
Small groups of ground forces demonstrated their skills not far from the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has threated to close. Iranian Warships Dock At Saudi Port on Red Sea
Iran is now engaged in 'gunboat diplomacy.' An Iranian destroyer and supply ship have docked at Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Port of Jeddah. The ships are on a 70 to 80 day mission as ordered by the Supreme Ayatollah Khamenei.
What is interesting about this event is that it comes just a few months after the US revealed an Iranian plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States in Washington. At the A-O Report, we have our doubts about some Debka.com articles and conclusions. The latest one we have doubts about concerns Debka reports suggesting that the United States is planning to go to war against Iran, with the potential for 100,000 troops to stage a ground invasion of Iran. We find this highly unlikely and have had difficulty in getting any corroborative evidence to support the notion of 100,000 troops in the region available for a ground invasion of Iran. Russia & China Veto UN Resolution on Syria
A UN resolution that backed an Arab League peace plan for Syria was vetoed by Russia and China on Saturday, (2/4/12)
The resolution had called for Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down as bloodshed and violence escalates throughout the nation.

Someone has posted on YouTube a fictional account of what it might be like if/when Iran launches a nuclear missile into Israel. The video clip is less than 5 minutes. It is very graphic but gives you a personalized idea of what it might be like for Israelis trying to flee Jerusalem as warning sirens sound and war jets fly overhead.
